So, I went to this museum exhibit yesterday on Pharaohs and Egypt and Mummies and all that fun stuff. And there were a lot of triangles represented in
that culture. I thought about this little ordealio with you wanting to put a triangle on yourself to represent the Holy Trinity. I don't exactly
remember why Egyptians liked triangles so much, but there was even like one with an eyeball in it, but it was the eye of Horace. And it went along
with his mother and father who represented afterlife and life. And, in the hieroglyphs, a triangle meant bread. which I thought was interesting, but
that's getting off track.
Yes, the site you showed does have triangles, but like you quoted, it is one of the earliest symbols of the Holy Trinity. Symbols can evolve over
time. If you make a poll of people outside of your bible college, outside of your church, and ask them what a triangle 'represents' to them. They
would probably lean more towards the Gay Pride symbol than the Holy Trinity. Or even historically, the Triangle was placed on a homosexuals clothing
during the Holocaust to mark them as Gay and then lead them to the gas chambers
Or, like Chessy said, the Triforce. ahah.
It's not that everybody hates triangles... (well, i think it's ridiculous to get a triangle on you, but to each their own..) It's that a lot of
people won't get the Holy trinity thing. We're just trying to give you opinions so you don't get something permanent on your body and then look at
it like "fuck why did I do that?"
So, ya know, in conclusion to this long ramble, having something that can be ambiguous in symbolism such as a triangle is like getting a Chinese or
Japanese 'letter' on yourself thinking it means courage and it really mean something like "I eat goat ass".
If and when you do decide on a tattoo, if you go with a triangle or whatever. Set it aside for a few weeks, forget about it, and then go back to the
idea and see if you still like it. Tattoos are forever.
